Beloved Burden E-mail
Written by Connie Cook

Her guardian angel loved her,
Maybe even more than I;
He knew that he'd be going Home
When told the day she'd die.

He'd been there since her time of birth,
Watched o'er her day and night;
His brilliant wings would shelter her,
He kept her in his sight.

He knew her hopes,
He knew her fears;
He loved her laugh,
He felt her tears.

He wrote down every word she spoke,
And heard her every prayer;
He followed every step she took,
Went with her everywhere.

The pain she felt before her death
Broke his strong heart in two;
It grieved him when he saw her thus
And nothng he could do.

But when she breathed her final breath
She saw his face so dear;
She knew he'd been there all her life
And now there was no fear.

For in his hand she'd slip her own,
And with him she would fly;
His massive wings would safely speed
To her new Home on high.

With Jesus there to welcome
This beloved burden...then...
The angel placed her in His care
Forevermore, Amen.
