Matt's Poem E-mail
Written by Christi Beam

I never got a chance to say goodbye.
Before God gave you wings and you learned how to fly.

I don't know how I'll get over you, I'm not even sure if I will.
No words could describe all the pain and sorrow i feel.

You used to make me laugh until I had tears in my eyes.
Now I only know sadness, and there is no laughter in my life.

I count the weeks since you went away.
Still not sure what to do or say.

Your memory will not let me forget, it just will not leave.
I think of you all day, and at night you're in my dreams.

One day I'll be able to say goodbye and let you go.
But when that day will arrive, I do not even know.

Friends say I should get over it and try to move on.
But how can I do that when I still don't believe you're really
gone.

I'll never forget you, my dear friend, and I'll love forever.
I long for a day when we can once again laugh together.
