My Mother passed at fifty-one
At that point I came undone
For I was only twenty-three
And had a four-month-old baby
I had no idea how I’d go on
Without Mom to cheer me on
One sunny morning while rocking my daughter
I was silently talking to my Mother
Telling her how much I miss her
and how much she’s missed
I swore on my cheek I felt her kiss
I heard my Mother’s voice say
“I have missed nothing.
You are never without me,
I’m with you everyday.
When you miss me, look in your heart;
because I’m there we’ll never be apart.”
