My God is great, my God is good
To walk in life with toil and grief
I have a better life ahead,
I enter into the golden gates
I walk up to him, so beautiful and pure
I bend my head and I kiss his feet
He picks me up, he holds my hand
I praise his name, far and wide
We walk to lands with streets of gold,
Many children playing together as one,
No strife, no sorrow, no pain, no fears,
I turn to my Jesus and I say to him,
Compared to heaven, it’s a hell of its own,
You were always there to show me the path.
But you pulled me through my unbelief,
Jesus turned to me, he smiled and said,
“For I am God and God is me,
“All I ask is believing for God is true,
Arose again, only to say, believe and for you
Then I cried, my lord, my lord
To be with you in a place so fair,
We walked on…Hand in hand
There almost in front of me
Jesus turned to me and said,
“A mansion, my child, to you I give,
“Now go ahead to the pillars of gold,
As I walk on, I can see a lad,
I run and run so hard and so fast,
He is so healthy, so strong and mild,
To see him again is truly so great…
Dad said, “God is so great and God is so true.
Then all of a sudden, a tap on my arm,
“My little pumpkin,” he said with a smile,
What a great day, so happy and free—
After a long, loving talk,
I went alone to think of His love,
All at once, it hits me at first like a thunderbolt
I really left the world below
My body died and is laid to rest,
I live again in this dear land,
As I look down upon the sand,
I can see my loved ones standing there,
Tears of sorrow, tears not merry, crying,
I say unto you, do not cry anymore
I will run up to meet you with Papa and Dad,
We will show you your mansion just over the hill,
This place is heaven and that’s where I am
Now follow and trust in Him till you die, Copyright © 1970 by Carrie Anne Rea. All rights reserved. Comments (0)
