Grief Poems
No-one will ever know, what he has done
No-one will ever know, what he saved
No-one will ever know, what he endured
No-one will ever know, the price he paid
No-one will ever know, the horror they saw
No-one will ever know, the pain they feel
No-one will ever know, the void he leaves
No-one will ever know, of the wound that will not heal
No-one will ever know, his never-fading hope
No-one will ever know, the truth that was betrayed
No-one will ever know, the beauty of his soul
No-one will ever know, the beliefs that were never swayed
No-one will ever know, the wisdom in his heart
No-one will ever know, the courage he held
No-one will ever know, the strength of his love
No-one will ever know, how it was that he was felled
But I know, and I will tell the world.

A fimiliar voice there
Hello I love you see you soon I hear
Silence
The sound of tires screaching
The sound of glass breaking
The sudden stop
Silence
The phone rings
A fimiliar voice there
Hello did you hear
Silence
The sudden shock
The blood curdling screams
The disbelief
The pain
Silence
A single red rose
A gapeing hole
A few nice words
Silence
Time will heal they say
Hope your doing ok
Anytime you need us we are here
Silence
About the author: I am 30 years old from Tennessee. My boyfriend was killed in a car accident this is just my feelings.
I never feel the sun…
I never feel the rain…
All I feel is pain…
Since you’ve gone.
My son I miss you so…
I never thought you’d go…
Before me.
You are so loved…
You are so missed.

That day, I gave you joy.
All you could think of was the future with this little girl.
I grew up, and you always watched proud.
And every day that passed, I thought I want to be like my dad.
There wasn’t a day when you wouldn’t hug me.
There wasn’t a day without you.
But it wasn’t always like that.
Because one morning everything changed.
You never returned.
Everyday I asked, “Where’s Dad?”
But Mom would break down and cry.
I never understood.
Until now.
You’re gone, I thought.
And you took me with you.
And it hurts.
But why?
Why, if I gave you joy one day.
I was given sorrow forever.
Why didn’t you get to give me joy?
Why?

In memory of Kimberly C. Johnson
I recall a time when I was so happy
There was a girl that shined
like the stars above
She had a smile as of an angel
A smile sent to invite you
into the wonders of life
And eyes to set your soul on fire
eyes that mesmerized . . . hypnotized
She was my soul princess
Too beautiful for this world
the angels descended and swept her away
to dance among the clouds
there she was set free
to spread her beauty throughout the heavens
Now you can feel the magic
as her spirit soars among us
In comes blissful joy and inspiration
for the mystery of life
You have been touched
by my soul Princess

A grandfather's death inspires his grandchildren to create a book of wishes in this sensitive portrayal of dealing with the loss of a loved one. When Anna and her little brother Joey hear the sad news about their Poppy's death, they begin to think about what they would do if they could have one more day with him. They smile thinking about Poppy’s crazy birthday hat, giggle at the silly songs Poppy used to plunk out on the piano, and laugh out loud at the weekly chicken-soup game they played with him at the deli. As the list grows into a pile, the pile becomes a book—a book of wishes for one more day with Poppy—or, as their mother explains, a memory book of the love and fun they shared with him, since all of their wishes have already come true. This treasured memento celebrates Poppy’s life and helps Anna and Joey keep his memory alive for years to come.
