It had all been rather overwhelming, really. My eldest sister in Seattle, Micky, died suddenly in her sleep—so unexpected! Meanwhile, my beloved Mum in Florida was already dying—the doctors had diagnosed Failure to Thrive; Hospice had already been called in. Mum was sleeping a lot now… fewer and fewer days of consciousness. A family decision was made not to tell Mum about Micky. I flew out to Seattle for the funeral—selfishly asking God to please, please let Mum live until I returned—I wanted to kiss her just "one more time" before she went to heaven. And God was merciful—the day I flew back to Florida from Seattle, I kissed Mum, and she died a few hours later (and only days after her daughter left this world). This is all my heart could stand—two people who were MY WORLD left me.

"We all shine on, like the moon and the stars and the sun…" —John Lennon
A year ago today, I lost my seventeen year old nephew in a tragic car accident. Against the back drop of the imminent onslaught of Katrina, my family and I struggled to deal with the shock and disbelief of what was happening around us. We pulled close and braced for the biggest life storm yet.

The man drove away in the old, light gold pickup truck splattered with mud as always. Dad never went anywhere on foot, he always drove his old truck. I guess during this period in his life, Dad needed to ride. Now that he was over sixty-eight years old and overweight, he did not like standing or walking.

On December 18, 1979, I was the driver in a tragic car accident in which a 17-year-old girl later died on Christmas Day. Although I wasn't speeding (35 mph) and drugs and alcohol were not a factor, I was distracted for an instant and ran head on into an oak tree which stood only two feet from the road. We had seven people in the car and none of us were wearing seatbelts. There were multiple injuries throughout the vehicle.

The story of the fawn is a mystic and weird experience which I will try to explain to you—you may think it's a crazy happening—I will let you decide.
On the 14th of May 2004, I had a emotional dream of Mom, where in the dream I was talking to her and saying "I wish there was a sign that I'm not alone, that you are with me." "Don't worry, I will send you someone to tell you that I love you and you are in my heart forever." I woke up from this dream in a sweat, it was so intense.
